This project involved restoring the support beams of a client’s outdoor pergola in Lesmerdie, which had significant mould growth. We started by thoroughly cleaning the mould off the timber using a bleach and water solution, ensuring the surface was free from any organic material that could affect the new paint.
After cleaning, we wiped down and sanded the beams to create a smooth surface, ready to be painted. To provide a long-lasting and weather-resistant finish, we applied Dulux Weathershield Paint, known for its durability and protection against harsh outdoor conditions. This paint choice will help protect the timber from future mould growth and weather damage.
The restored pergola beams now have a fresh, clean look and are well-protected against the elements. The project revitalised the outdoor space, making it more enjoyable and visually appealing for the client.
